On easter day, I could leave early from work- so, likewise… got out of office and waited for a taxi. This ‘ol Pakistani hunk comes with his vehicle, and I get in, I’m on my way home! Anyway, I don’t know if it is me… or just me??? But taxi drivers always seem to strike up a conversation. It is interesting as he tells me an incident that happened a week back to one of his friends…
There was this friend of his, who was a taxi driver as well, and the latter was going through the Sharq (not pronounced as Shark) area in Kuwait. Well, he had the traffic light within 1 km of sight, and to his dismay, he begins to realize that this will be the last ‘Km’ he would travel. He has a heart attack while in seat, and everything is coming to a close for Him. However as a last thought/ act of goodness in regards to the pedestrians or people on the road- he shifts the gear to neutral, thereby, allowing the vehicle to decelerate… The taxi zeroes down and bangs the car in front of it to a complete halt, while the driver’s leg is caught in the accelerator. VRRRRRRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOMMMMMM… MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM… and the driver of the car in front, walks out furious, ready to fly a fist at the man. While he walks towards the open window of the car behind him, he wonders what’s wrong with the man who is in his seat- belted up, and not moving!? (Little did he know that this man had already breathed his last, a minute earlier). Slowly his anger calms, and the pieces in his brain start to fall back to its place, he calls the ambulance, and somehow calls his mates/ family from the taxi driver’s cell phone. The driver of the car I was in, shakes his head, and says that his friend had already had an attack earlier, and was advised to take up a surgery, but he did not. But, “can these things be controlled by a surgery?” and hen ended it by saying, “Everything in the hands of the Almighty!” I just shook my head in approval, and was just thinking about the incident.
Then the taxi driver adds on, “Even I had 2 attacks… but I did a surgery and I am walking around with 2 springs in my heart. I hope…” and I just stop his chatting, “WHOAAAA!!! Bhaijaaaan… aaap bi??” and you can imagine what I did- I could not take my eyes off this man, till I reached home. I seriously thought he would have his last attack right there, and the way I continued to stare at him, he thought, I was undergoing an attack!!
Anyway, the instance left me thinking-What, meaning, WHAT is in our hands? What is there in our control? When you sleep, can you assure yourself to wake up the next morning? The reply to all those questions opens the door to a very simple answer- Nothing!! !!
I keep getting reminded of this verse over and over again; it keeps coming back to me, from the Bible in the book of Job 7.7, Psalm 39.5 “Every man’s life is but, a breath!!!!” While going up the stairs, in reaching home safe; Just mumbled a huge ‘thank you’ to the Lord who never sleeps, nor slumbers, but has taken care of everyone, from the day of creation to this ticking moment.. .. .. .. I am more than satisfied, that it is He who is in control, and not us-

last Wednesday...
Recently i went with my friend Jesse, to the Dodge Charger (vehicle) showroom. I just love that vehicle, and am praying to the Lord, that in due course of time, i get to own one. But, after visiting the place, and coming back home, the Holy Spirit put me to thought. I started to think why i had not received (i always getting muddled up on that spelling) the vehicle earlier; and a very painful, pinching lesson started to dawn into me... it is not MY time, but it is about HIS time that matters... Even before our birth He has set everything for our life, in it's schedule. (For example, on Feb 29 1984, someone special was be born; On August 2nd 2008, i got married; as soon as i click 'Send', every who gets this msg will read it the moment they open this, and they will read it only on or after April 2nd 2009, (me trying to be a wise nut:-) )...) What i am saying is everything that is happening to your and my life, was A L R E A D Y set by Him- i.e. if you're travelling to Dubai, or if i lost my job, or if you loose your job, or if they had a baby, or if they got a new home, if you are waiting for your right partner, or even if Someone had an accident, or just missed one... ... ... ... HE KNOWS IT ALL, HE PLANNED IT ALL!
then y worry?...
And the Holy Spirit added on, to tell me that you (i.e. me and you, us- mere Humans) can pray and ask the Lord, to postpone the day or time of things happening, or 'call it in advance' (pre-pone- my english teacher taught us long back that there is no word likewise, so i tend to not use 'pre-pone' ), and find out if God will do that; but be wise, and have the humility to understand to leave everything that you are praying to happen or not happen, in the decision of our wonderful Lord Jesus!!
God has given us the power to change things, cos, we are His children...Lets be thankful, and keep ourselves fit for Him!
